Fundamentals / Positional Sparring

Wednesdays • 5:30–6:30 PM

Build a stronger foundation and learn how to apply your Jiu Jitsu in real situations.

This class is open to all levels, but is especially valuable for beginners and newer students looking to develop a solid understanding of the fundamentals.

Each class focuses on:

• Essential movements, positions & techniques
• Practical self-defense and core Jiu Jitsu concepts
• Positional sparring in controlled, specific situations
• Learning how to escape, control, defend and attack from key positions
• Building confidence before progressing into more open sparring

Positional sparring gives you the opportunity to practice what you’ve learned against real resistance without simply being thrown into a full round. You’ll start from specific positions, work toward a clear objective, reset, and try again.

It’s one of the best ways to turn technique into usable Jiu Jitsu.

No experience required. Beginners are welcome. Experienced students are encouraged to attend and sharpen their fundamentals.

All Levels Gi Jiu Jitsu

Mondays • 5:30–7:00 PM
Tuesdays • 6:30–8:00 PM
Thursdays • 6:30–8:00 PM
Fridays • 5:30–7:00 PM

Our All Levels Gi class is the heart of our regular training program, bringing beginners, intermediate students, and experienced practitioners together on the mat.

The 90-minute format gives us more time to develop technique, explore positions in greater detail, and get meaningful rounds of live training.

Each class includes:

• Technique and detailed instruction
• Drilling and repetition
• Positional training and situational work
• Live sparring and rolling
• Opportunities to work with students of different experience levels

Training with a mix of skill levels is an important part of learning Jiu Jitsu. Newer students build their fundamentals alongside experienced teammates, while advanced students continue to sharpen their timing, technique, and understanding.

Expect a class that is challenging, technical, welcoming, and adaptable to your experience level.

Beginners are welcome. No prior Jiu Jitsu experience is required.

Gi required.

Mixed Level / Advanced Gi Jiu Jitsu

60-Minute Morning Class

Mondays • 6:00–7:00 AM
Wednesdays • 6:00–7:00 AM
Fridays • 6:00–7:00 AM

Start the day with a focused, fast-paced hour of Jiu Jitsu designed for students who already have some familiarity with the fundamentals.

Our morning classes move at a slightly more advanced pace, with an emphasis on technical development, drilling, positional work, and live training.

Each class includes:

• Technique and detailed instruction
• Drilling and repetition
• Positional and situational training
• Live sparring and rolling
• More advanced concepts, transitions, and problem-solving

Because of the shorter 60-minute format, we keep the class moving and make the most of every round.

This class is best suited for students with some previous Jiu Jitsu experience who are comfortable with the basic positions and training environment. You don't need to be an advanced belt—just ready for a slightly faster pace.

Gi required.

No-Gi Jiu Jitsu

60-Minute Class

Wednesdays • 6:30–7:30 PM
Fridays • 12:00–1:00 PM
Saturdays • 11:30 AM–12:30 PM

Our No-Gi classes offer a faster-paced, more advanced training environment focused on Jiu Jitsu without the traditional Gi.

Training emphasizes movement, control, transitions, submissions, and positional awareness, with techniques adapted specifically for No-Gi grappling.

Each class includes:

• No-Gi technique and detailed instruction
• Takedowns, wrestling and standing exchanges
• Positional and situational training
• Transitions, escapes and submissions
• Live sparring and rolling

These classes move at a quicker pace and assume a basic understanding of Jiu Jitsu positions and movement. They are best suited for students with some previous training experience who are comfortable with live sparring.

You don't need to be an advanced belt, but we recommend newer students first develop a foundation through our Fundamentals and All Levels Gi classes.

No Gi required. Rash guard and grappling shorts recommended.

BJJ Beginner Boot Camp

Start Jiu Jitsu the right way in a focused, supportive training environment built specifically for beginners.

Our BJJ Beginner Boot Camp is an intensive introductory program designed for anyone stepping onto the mat for the first time—or someone returning to Jiu Jitsu who wants to rebuild a strong foundation.

Throughout the program, you’ll learn:

• Foundational positions and techniques
• Practical, real-world self-defense
• Essential movement, balance & control
• Positional training and live sparring at your pace
• The fundamentals you need to confidently enter our regular classes

Boot Camp gives new students the structure, repetition, and individual attention they need to learn without feeling lost in a room full of experienced students.

Your registration includes a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu uniform and belt, so you'll have everything you need to get started.

No experience required. Complete beginners are encouraged.

Our Beginner Boot Camps are offered periodically throughout the year and are not part of our regular weekly schedule.

Check our website for upcoming Boot Camp dates, schedules, pricing, and registration.

I like this better for the permanent class description because you can change Boot Camp from four weeks to eight weeks, once a week to twice a week, or adjust the price without having outdated information sitting in Zen Planner.
